Two of Brewhouse & Kitchen’s venues offer a stylish backdrop for weddings. Riverside Gallery in Nottingham, is located over a brew-pub set on the River Trent and can cater for 100 seated, 170 standing. The Campbell Room in Milton Keynes has a domed ceiling, large terrace area and private balcony, and can host up to 200. With one of the country’s most stunning topiary gardens inspired by Alice in Wonderland, Billesley Manor Hotel & Spa isn’t short of great backdrops. (Three miles from Stratford upon Avon, rumour has it Shakespeare was married here, too.) Crumplebury, Herefordshire

There’s no shortage of spots for ceremonies outdoors at Crumplebury, in Herefordshire. Or you can say ‘I do’ in the Art Gallery with 150 for a ceremony, then bring the outdoors inside with a party in the Grand Hall with its floor-to-ceiling glass walls. A gem in the Northumberland countryside, Slaley Hall is a short drive from Newcastle with four beautiful rooms for weddings catering for groups of 60-300. Oakwood School, West Sussex

There won’t be any talking at the back during your ceremony – guests will be speechless, as they take in the Heritage Room at Oakwood School in Chichester, West Sussex. Penshurst Place, Kent

Kent is called the Garden of England and, if Penshurst Place is anything to go by, it’s well deserved. The Renaissance-inspired Italian Garden is one of the settings for humanist weddings, but don’t ignore the interiors for civil ceremonies. Lainston House, Hampshire

At Lainston House near Winchester, a corridor from the main hotel leads you to the 17th-century Dawley barn, now converted into a space to seat 120 for dinner. There are smaller rooms for 50 guests or under, and a charming Outdoor Pavilion licensed for up to 120.
